New Girl’s Max Greenfield Loves Spinning, Pop Music
Posted by Lauren on May 10, 2012

If Max Greenfield ever quits the entertainment industry, he could definitely make a living as a spinning instructor. The actor pulled on some spandex and turned up at SoulCycle’s WeHo studios yesterday for a 2 and 3pm charity ride double-header to benefit child literacy organization Milk + Bookies..and looked like a total pro the whole time. Turns out Greenfield has some real experience in the saddle: he used to be an instructor at Made in LA Fitness. Curious to see Max in action, we showed up for the 2pm slot.

Upon entering the studio, spinners were greeted with signs saying that they had consented to being photographed and taped. There was a small video crew filming what we can only suppose will be a follow-up to this. We got on our bikes, ready to ride, and Max—who even out of character seems to share many of Schmidt’s personality traits—adjusted his mike. Fellow New Girl castmate Hannah Simone, aka Schmidt’s love interest CeCe, snuck in right under the wire. Then Max dimmed the lights, turned up the music (the Glee version of Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know”) and we all got down to business.
