New Girl‘s season-premiere love triangle is complete.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Veep star Reid Scott will appear on the Fox comedy for its upcoming fourth season, playing a wedding guest and the object of Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) affection at a wedding.
News of Scott’s addition goes hand-in-hand with Jessica Biel‘s gig on the Sept. 16 season premiere. He’ll play Ted, the charming man who inspires some not-so-friendly competition between Jess and Kat (Biel), “the hottest scientist in the world.”
In addition to his role as Dan Egan on Veep, Reid has several films on deck — including Nancy Meyers‘ The Intern, which recently started filming in New York.
He and Biel will tape their New Girl appearances during the first week of August, when the 20th Century Fox TV series starts production.
Scott is repped by Gersh and Impression Entertainment.
Jessica Biel is (briefly) returning to her TV roots this fall via a guest stint on New Girl, TVLine has learned.
The 7th Heaven alum will appear in the Fox comedy’s Season 4 premiere as Kat, the hottest scientist in the world who ends up competing with Zooey Deschanel’s Jess over a cute guy.
The setup of the Sept. 16 opener: The gang challenges each other to see who can get lucky at the last wedding of the season. The guy Jess sets her sights is the same dude Kat is eyeing.
Laura: I’ll take any scoop you’ve got on New Girl‘s next season!
Grab some boxes because someone may be on the move! “I think that would be smart, I hope some does,” Zooey Deschanel said of one of the roomies moving out of the loft next season. “I think it would make sense. They did that on Friends…then you can have two different areas.” Two roommates staying put? “I know they are putting Nick and Schmidt in bunk beds,” Jake Johnson revealed, adding he’s excited to see the duo “relive the college days.”
#3.23 – “Cruise” – Jess and Nick invite the gang along with them on a cruise they booked while still together as a couple. Coach tries to suppress his fear of boating, Schmidt attempts to win back Cece and Winston tries to mend Jess and Nick’s fractured relationship.
#3.22 – “Dance” – Jess fears someone is trying to sabotage her first middle school dance and she enlists the gang to help her chaperone on the big night.
#3.21 – “Big News” – The morning after their break-up, Jess and Nick scramble to keep it a secret from the loftmates. Meanwhile, Winston passes his police academy entrance exam, and demands that the gang throw him a “Honey Roast”.
